Scholarly activity is an important part of the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program which is an ACGME accreditation requirement.

Resident Research Opportunities

  • Collaborate on research projects with core faculty and others at UPMC Hamot
  • Receive group instruction and individual guidance from the Director of Medical Research
  • Publish research studies and case reports; submit grant applications
  • Present at regional, national, international research conferences
  • Create and present scientific research posters for Annual UPMC Hamot Research Day
  • Teach among orthopaedic resident peers and alongside faculty at lectures
