UPMC Hospice Providers

The UPMC Palliative and Supportive Institute collaborates with Family Hospice and Palliative Care to help our patients meet the end of life with dignity and grace in a compassionate environment.

A winner of the American Hospital Association’s Circle of Life award for innovative care programming, Family Hospice and Palliative Care has been providing compassionate care to our area since 1980.

As Pennsylvania’s largest hospice provider, Family Hospice serves 20 counties in Western Pennsylvania and:

  • Helps patients make choices about their care
  • Supports family and friends who are grieving
  • Educates both professionals and the community about end-of-life issues

Family Hospice became part of UPMC in 2016 and maintains high standards for quality services and community education as part of the UPMC continuum of care. Services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week in a variety of settings, including private homes, personal care and nursing homes, hospitals, and our two inpatient care centers located in Mt. Lebanon and on the UPMC Canterbury campus in Lawrenceville. Family Hospice offers a team approach to care and serves people of all ages and walks of life.
