The UPMC Center for Engagement and Inclusion aims to ensure that diversity, inclusion, dignity, respect, and cultural awareness are core components of the employee, health plan member, patient, and community experience.

The UPMC employee experience is the sum of everything an employee experiences throughout her or his connection to UPMC — every employee interaction, from the first contact as a potential recruit to the last interaction after the end of employment.
The UPMC patient, member, and customer experience is designed to provide culturally competent services and care that are accessible to all patients and families recognizing that care needs may differ for individuals from diverse backgrounds.
The UPMC community experience plays a vital role in enhancing the health and economic development of our region’s economy, going well beyond the scope of a traditional health care organization. UPMC joins forces with other nonprofits, charitable foundations, and religious organizations to identify and address critical needs, in order to bring about the changes that will make the communities we serve even better.
