UPMC and the Pittsburgh Penguins® have partnered to distribute COVID-19 vaccines in the communities we serve.
The first in a series of vaccination clinics took place Monday, March 15, 2021, at PPG Paints Arena. We will continue to hold more clinics at PPG Paints Arena, the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry (drive-up clinic), and The Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills in Tarentum (drive-up clinic).
If you are eligible and wish to schedule for drive-up events at The Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills on April 14 and 15, please call 833-676-1995.
“We're really excited about the partnership between UPMC and the Pittsburgh Penguins and are grateful to the Pens for generously offering their arena and space to UPMC as we vaccinate community members,” says Mark Sevco, president, UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. “We will do great work with the Pens’ support at PPG Paints Arena and the UPMC Lemieux Sports complex in the coming weeks.”
To date, UPMC has distributed hundreds of thousands of COVID-19 vaccine doses in the communities we serve. This partnership will help us to vaccinate more people, helping to protect our communities from COVID-19 and save lives.
“UPMC is not only a valued partner to us, but also to the Pittsburgh community,” says David Morehouse, president and CEO, Pittsburgh Penguins®. “The Penguins have the space at PPG Paints Arena and the experience to accommodate large groups efficiently. With UPMC’s guidance, we already have trained workers and strict anti-COVID cleaning protocols for the limited fans that have been coming to our games. Together with UPMC’s experts, we can help to distribute the vaccine at a quicker pace and more safely to those who need it most.”
The vaccination clinics are by appointment only; no walk-in vaccinations are available at this time.
If you are eligible to receive a vaccine under Pennsylvania’s criteria, you can sign up to receive a vaccine from UPMC. By signing up, we will be able to contact you when supplies of the vaccine are available.
