Making a gift to the Copeland Burn Fund also is a thoughtful way to honor the accomplishments or memory of a relative, friend, or colleague.
Throughout his medical career at UPMC Mercy, Charles E. Copeland, MD, was a man of many firsts. A true visionary, he recognized the tremendous need in Pittsburgh — then a booming industrial center — for outstanding trauma and burn care. In 1967, he established Mercy Hospital’s Burn Center and was a founding member of the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation.
In 1987, Dr. Copeland established the burn fund to support patients and their families and to advance the mission of the Mercy Burn Center. Named in his honor, the great work of the Charles E. Copeland Burn Fund is maintained through the generosity of individual donors and a variety of community fundraising events.
There are several ways you can contribute to the UPMC Mercy Copeland Burn Fund. You will receive a written acknowledgement and receipt of your gift. Contributions are tax deductible, as provided by law.
