Our expert team of specialists works closely with regional emergency responders to prepare for the arrival of trauma patients, ensuring optimum pre-hospital treatment. The UPMC Mercy Trauma Center is an integral part of UPMC Trauma Care System, the largest and most experienced trauma system in Pennsylvania, and one of the nation’s most comprehensive trauma systems. In fact, UPMC’s trauma and emergency care leaders created the definitive reference tool used by trauma surgeons worldwide, The Trauma Manual.
