Faculty members within the Renal-Electrolyte Division of the University of Pittsburgh have a dynamic research program directed at studying normal kidney structure and function and the changes that occur in disease states. Faculty members also have active clinical research programs. With the support of the National Institutes of Health, the Renal-Electrolyte Division has established the Pittsburgh Center for Kidney Research. The NIH also provides support for the training of students in kidney-related research.
