Multiphasic Blood Screening
UPMC Bedford will be offering multiphasic lab screenings BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Appointments can be made by calling 814-623-3506 option 6. If no answer please leave a message and you will receive a return phone call. Appointments are limited and no walk-ins will be accepted. Patients who are ill with a fever or cough will not be able to participate. Patients will be asked to wear their own masks and will be let into the building at their appointment time.
The screenings involve a series of 28 tests, including cholesterol and triglycerides. Patients must fast for 12 hours and consume no alcohol for 24 hours prior to screening.
Cost is $25 for blood screening and $5 for urinalysis. Other tests available include TSH to check thyroid function for an additional $5, A1C to test for diabetic compliance for $5, and PSA for prostate cancer for $10. For an additional $5, test results can be sent to the patient.

UPMC Bedford has earned Advanced Disease-Specific Care Certification for Acute Stroke Ready Hospital from The Joint Commission and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. The certification recognizes hospitals equipped to treat stroke patients with timely, evidence-based care prior to transferring them to a Primary or Comprehensive Stroke Center.
