Abigail Schlesinger, MD, is the chief of the Behavioral Science Division and the medical director of Telephonic Psychiatric Services (TiPS) at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. She also is associate professor of psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh. TiPS’ expanding ambulatory integrated services are provided within multigroup pediatricians’ officesin 27 counties across Pennsylvania. Dr. Schlesinger has devoted her career to improving how we talk to patients, patients’ families and other physicians.
