Jody Glance, MD, is medical director of Addiction Services at UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital and assistant professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh .Providing a range of services for patients with addiction to substances has never been easy. This podcast summarizes how, under Dr. Glance’ s leadership, treatment for patients continues despite difficulties, including changes in regulations, new staff learning that has permitted “detox at a distance”, protecting patients from COVID risk, modifications of prescription medication, and changes in group-treatment approaches.
