Student Intern Program at UPMC Jameson

UPMC Jameson promotes health care professions with student internships.

We will approve student intern applications under the following conditions:

  • The student's college course of study requires an internship for a specific time.
  • The student shows a desire to serve as an intern.

To manage student internships across the UPMC system, the Education Department receives and processes all intern's applications.

How to Apply for a Student Internship

Each student applying for a clinical or technical internship with UPMC Jameson must follow the steps below.

1. Complete orientation test and mandatory training

Review the UPMC Jameson student intern orientation handbook (PDF) and take the post-test (PDF).

Complete one of the mandatory training modules:

If you have a question about which modules you should complete, call the Education Department at 724-656-4269.

2. Get your clearances and health exams

3. Fill out and send in your paperwork

At least 10 business days before the first day of the internship, fill out and send the following to the Education Department:

Mail all student intern paperwork to:

UPMC Jameson
Education Department
1211 Wilmington Ave.
New Castle, PA 16105

If you prefer, you can fax your student intern application to 724-656-4666.

Failure to turn in your paperwork at least 10 days before your start date could delay your internship.

Once we approve your application, you must agree to accept the internship under the proper department manager. If needed, our staff will talk with your manager before your first day to define the type and nature of your internship.
