UPMC Sports Medicine recognizes the need to train students as athletic trainer student aides in the high school setting. The first year/basic and second year/advanced workshops will educate students in practical, basic athletic training skills and responsibilities, and inform students of the vocational opportunities available in the field of sports medicine and athletic training.

The workshops include guest speakers, educational classes on athletic training, and education on anatomy – along with other sports-related topics. Participants will learn taping techniques, CPR, and First Aide. They will also meet local professionals who will share their stories and career paths.
