You’ll have your own primary care provider (PCP) but can be seen via telehealth for almost all your health care needs.
If you need to be seen in person you will be referred to one of the satellite locations of the practice. We have locations in Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg, Lancaster, York, and surrounding areas. Once there, you will be seen by one of the providers from Virtual Primary Care–UPMC for your in-person health care needs.
Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
When your PCP is unavailable, one of the other providers in the virtual practice will be available for questions or appointments during business hours.
The UPMC Pinnacle nurse advice call line is available 24/7, and the provider on-call services are available evenings, overnight, and weekends.
We also offer on-demand video visits for after hours and weekends. No appointment is needed. A UPMC provider can see you for flu, COVID-19 symptoms, and many other non-urgent symptoms. On-demand video visits are available Monday through Sunday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
If you need to be seen in person, we offer walk-in care at our Express Care locations and urgent care at AllBetterCare. To find a walk-in location near you, visit UPMC Pinnacle Right Care.
Anyone who wants the convenience of telehealth care and has a smartphone or device and an internet connection. This practice will be especially appealing to people who are very busy and have trouble finding time to go to a traditional primary care visit, those with transportation challenges, those who travel often, or college students away from home.
For patients who reside, attend college, or relocate outside of Pennsylvania, they may be able to continue being a patient of the Virtual Primary Care–UPMC. Your PCP will be able to advise you which states are eligible.
There are very few things that can’t be well managed via telehealth. If you have particularly severe conditions such as heart failure or diabetes you may benefit from remote patient monitoring devices so that we can more closely monitor your condition and vital signs. If your medical conditions make travel difficult this may be a particularly good care option for you.

You will need a smart phone or device, a MyPinnacleHealth patient portal account, and an internet connection.
If you need a lab test, imaging study, referral for a procedure, or a consultation with a specialist, your primary care provider will order the test for you. Our staff will help you with scheduling the test or procedure, and you would go to the site where the tests are normally performed. Your provider will receive the results and they will be communicated to you, with any needed follow-up plans, in a timely fashion. Test results will also be available in our patient portal.
Any patients over the age of 18 are welcome at Virtual Primary Care–UPMC. Unfortunately, due to the significant pediatric in-person health care needs and vaccination schedule, we are unable to care for children under the age of 18.
For new UPMC Pinnacle patients, you can simply sign up for a UPMC Pinnacle patient portal at mypinnaclehealth.org. You will need a smartphone, tablet, or computer with camera and microphone.
