WPH houses the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry and is a national leader in National Institutes of Health-funded research. As part of an academic medical center, education is provided to trainees from a wide range of behavioral health-related disciplines, including medicine, psychology, social work, nursing, pharmacy, and others.
