UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital PGY2 Psychiatric Pharmacy Residency Program

The PGY2 psychiatric pharmacy residency program builds on Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and PGY1 pharmacy residency training to contribute to the development of clinical psychiatric pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of psychiatric and neurologic conditions. UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital provides personalized PGY2 psychiatric pharmacy training that will prepare graduates of the program to practice across all care settings, including acute inpatient, ambulatory behavioral health clinics, and academia. Training will focus on providing patient-centered care as part of an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective and evidence-based pharmacotherapy for individuals with psychiatric and neuropsychiatric disorders. Upon completion, residents are eligible for board certification, specialized positions, and advanced patient care practice.
