The more you know about COPD, the more control you will have over your life. There are many resources available to help you and your family learn about COPD.
If you or a family member have COPD and have a UPMC St. Margaret primary care physician, you may benefit from our COPD home visit program. A registered nurse chronic disease care manager will visit you at home to teach you self-management of your COPD. The home visit program includes education on:

A pulmonary function test (PFT) measures how well your lungs function. Your physician might order you a PFT as part of a routine exam, especially if you smoke; to test your lung function before surgery; or to help diagnose lung conditions or diseases.
Testing is now offered at both UPMC St. Margaret (Monday through Friday) and UPMC Natrona Heights (Mondays and Thursdays).
