Bob Barton, LAT, ATC
Bob has been at Fort LeBoeuf High School since 1992 and with UPMC Sports Medicine since 1995. Bob earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports science from Penn State University. He holds a Teacher Certification in Health and Physical Education. In his free time, he enjoys fishing.

Joe McShane, MS, LAT, ATC
Joe has been with UPMC Sports Medicine since 2012. He received his bachelor's degree in athletic training from Penn State and a master’s degree in athletic training from California University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining General McLane High School, Joe worked at Mt. Lebanon High School, Greater Latrobe High School, and Norwin High School – and he served as the Concussion Outreach Coordinator for UPMC Sports Medicine. Joe has also completed internships with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Buffalo Bills, and Erie Otters.

JaShawn Smith, LAT, ATC
JaShawn joined UPMC Sports Medicine and Greenville High School in 2020. He earned both his bachelor’s degree in biology and master’s degree in athletic training from Waynesburg University. He is certified in blood flow restriction therapy and plans to earn his certification in strength and conditioning. In his free time, JaShawn enjoys fishing, hiking, lifting, and disc golf.

Sharon Dressler, LAT, ATC
Sharon has been working for UPMC Sports Medicine since 2009 and has been the athletic trainer at Harbor Creek High School since 2016. Sharon has over 25 years of experience as an athletic trainer working at various high schools and colleges in the surrounding Erie area.

Derek Hornaman, MS, LAT, ATC
Derek has been with UPMC Sports Medicine since 2009. He received his bachelor’s degree from Mercyhurst University and a master’s degree from California University of Pennsylvania. Prior to working at Iroquois High School, he worked at Strong Vincent High School and Erie High School.

Patrick Miller, MEd, LAT, ATC
Patrick Miller has worked as a certified and licensed athletic trainer in high school and college athletics since 1996. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in both allied health and athletic training from Slippery Rock University and a MEd in exercise science and biomechanics from Auburn University. He has been with Mohawk Area School District since 2006.

Barbara Kennard, MS, LAT, ATC
Barbara Kennard has been with Neshannock Township Senior High School since 1993. She received her bachelor’s degree in allied health, with an emphasis in athletic training, from Slippery Rock University. Barbara also received her master’s degree in exercise science from Slippery Rock. She has been with UPMC Sports Medicine for many years.

Erin has been working for UPMC Sports Medicine and North East High School since 2002. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Penn State University and a master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Erin is the Team Leader for the UPMC Hamot region.

Todd Matlak, MS, LAT, ATC
Todd has been with Seneca High School since 2021 and UPMC Sports Medicine since 2019. He has a bachelor’s degree in sports medicine/athletic training from Mercyhurst University and a master’s in athletic training from California University of Pennsylvania. Todd spent 18 years as an athletic trainer at the collegiate level and three years at the high school level previously. He enjoys hiking, golfing, and spending time with family.

Kristen Baker, LAT, ATC
Kristin earned her bachelor’s degree in secondary health and physical education, with a concentration in athletic training, from Baldwin Wallace University. She has been with UPMC Sports Medicine since 2007. Her past work experiences include Point Park University, Baldwin Wallace College, Mansfield Senior High School, and the Youngstown Phantoms. In her free time, she enjoys raising AKC Labrador Retrievers, scrapbooking, and card making.
Evan Schreyer, MS, LAT, ATC
Evan has been with Thiel College and UPMC Sports Medicine since 2021. He graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in athletic training and a master’s degree in sport studies.
Killian Lott, LAT, ATC
Killian has been with Thiel College and UPMC Sports Medicine since 2021. He has a bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Wilmington College and has published research addressing the effect of COVID-19 on student-athletes’ mental health.
