Thank you for your interest in the UPMC Pinnacle Emergency Medicine Residency program! We are excited to welcome our second class of Emergency Medicine interns in July 2020.
While we are still one of the newest EM residency programs in the country, academic emergency medicine is nothing new to us. We have years of bedside teaching experience with medical students, off-service residents from UPMC Pinnacle, and Emergency Medicine residents, including EM residents from the Penn State Hershey program.
Our objective is to produce empathetic, clinically excellent EM physicians with a focus on resident well-being in a community ED setting. We aim to train EM physicians who are capable of practicing not only in Central Pennsylvania, but anywhere in the world. Our graduating residents will possess the tools necessary to achieve lifelong learning in Emergency Medicine, as well as a solid clinical background that will facilitate continued training and advancement in whatever clinical setting (community or academic), role, or subspecialty they choose to pursue.
Highlights of our program include:
We are looking for residents who are passionate about emergency medicine and who are interested in being a part of a growing and maturing EM program and trail blaze the future of emergency medicine at UPMC Pinnacle.
Thanks for your interest in our program. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.
Sincerely,
Erik Kochert, MD, FACEP
