What Are Cognitive Infusions?
Cognitive infusions involve receiving FDA-approved intravenous medications that may slow the progression of Alzheimer’s disease. Infusions are given at an outpatient infusion center, allowing qualified team members to administer the treatments and monitor you for side effects or complications.
What Cognitive Conditions Do We Treat?
Cognitive infusions may be available for early-stage Alzheimer’s disease.
Who’s Eligible for Cognitive Infusion Services?
You may be eligible for cognitive infusion services if you have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and meet the criteria for receiving medication by infusion. You must also receive insurance approval and have access to caregiver support at home.
What Cognitive Infusion Services Do We Offer?
Our team offers comprehensive cognitive infusion services, including:
Pretreatment evaluation
To qualify for cognitive infusions, you will need to have a comprehensive evaluation, including imaging scans, cerebrospinal fluid analysis, cognitive assessments, and an extensive medical history.
A team of neurology and neuroradiology experts will review your test results and medical history to determine whether you are eligible for cognitive infusions.
Insurance authorization
If you are eligible for cognitive infusion treatment, our team will assist you with insurance preauthorization, financial planning, and scheduling.
Outpatient cognitive infusion services
Cognitive infusions are delivered at our outpatient infusion center every two to four weeks, depending on the type of infusion you receive. You and your caregiver will be required to remain at the infusion center for several hours during your treatment so our staff can monitor you for side effects or other complications.
Ongoing monitoring and follow-up care
Our team will perform follow-up cognitive testing every six months for at least 18 months to determine how well you respond to the infusions.
What Can I Expect?
Before starting cognitive infusion treatment, our team will carefully review your medical history and test results to ensure that cognitive infusions are right for you. During your treatment, our team of infusion experts will monitor you for side effects and complications, and you will have routine follow-up care to assess your response to treatment.
