COVID-19: Safety, Testing, News Alerts, and More
A skin biopsy is the removal of a small piece of skin for evaluation for specific skin conditions like cancer.
Our well-trained and equipped family medicine doctors collect skin biopsies every day. They can perform biopsies in the office using local anesthetic under sterile conditions.
Biopsies are taken from the patient either using a scalpel or using a tool called a punch which removes a small circular chunk of skin.
After the biopsy, the area may require stitches.
If you have a skin mark that you would like to have evaluated, contact one of our Family Medicine Health Centers to make an appointment.
