Announcing Our New UPMC Harrisburg Anesthesiology Residency Program
Selecting your future residency program is an exciting process. We know that finding information about educational opportunities and other resources is important in making your decision. We will continue to update this website throughout our development and thank you for considering our program to accomplish your goals as a physician anesthesiologist.
Program Origins
Our residency program was created to serve our greater Harrisburg community, in accordance with the mission of our sponsoring institution and world-renowned health care provider, UPMC. Although our anesthesiology program will welcome its first residents in July of 2023, UPMC Graduate Medical Education (GME) has a long-standing tradition of excellent residency and fellowship training in the central Pennsylvania region.
Teaching Faculty
A major component of our anesthesiology faculty is independently contracted with the UPMC network. Other faculty members represent UPMC Chronic Pain Management and UPMC Critical Care Medicine. Our residents will also learn from teaching faculty in the UPMC GME Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and General Surgery Residency Programs.
